Bishop's Stortford · Volunteer river group

Our river deserves better.

Save Our Stort is a community of neighbours who meet every four weeks to pull litter from the River Stort and keep the towpath beautiful. No experience needed. Just turn up.

Keeping the Stort clean, one bag at a time

What started as a handful of people with litter pickers is now a proper community effort. We meet on the towpath, work our way along the water, and leave the river cleaner than we found it.

Cleanups every 4 weeks

Regular meets along the towpath. Bring gloves if you have them, we bring the rest.

For the wildlife

Less rubbish means safer water for the swans, fish and everything that calls the Stort home.

A friendly crew

All ages, all welcome. It's good exercise, good company and a genuine difference you can see.

It's simpler than you think

Find the next meet in our Facebook group, come down to the towpath, and lend a hand for an hour or two. That's it. Every pair of hands counts.
